Beauty Besties: Serum Pairings for Better Results

A best friend lifts you up and helps you reach your highest potential. Beauty besties are products that work better when they are used together.  The ingredients in these dynamic duos create a synergy, and can amplify our skincare results. When we combine these active serums together properly, we can get the most out of our day and night routine.

10% Niacinamide Booster Firm & Lift Serum

Niacinamide + Firm & Lift Serum Duo

Key Ingredients: Niacinamide & Retinol

This is a skin smoothing, dark spot diminishing, pore refining duo.
Niacinamide can help boost barrier function, is anti-inflammatory, and works to reduce the appearance of pore size as well. The 10% Niacinamide Booster also improves the look of dark spots, firms the look of skin, and may balance shine. Retinol can help smooth the appearance of the skin, fine lines and wrinkles, and helps reduce the look of large pores. However, Retinol can be hard on the skin’s barrier function initially and may cause redness and irritation. Together they create smoothing, brightening skin care synergy.

Brighten & Even Serum + Hydrate & Smooth Serum

Brighten & Even Serum + Hydrate & Smooth Serum

Key Ingredients: Vitamin C, Ferulic Acid, & Vitamin E

This essential serum pairing has three antioxidants that work together to supercharge the skin care abilities of each other. Vitamin C boosts the production of Vitamin E and together they improve each other’s efficacy, and adding in Ferulic Acid can increase Vitamin C’s ability up to 8X. This means extra results when looking to even skin tone and target the look of hyperpigmentation and sun damage.

Hydrate & Smooth Serum + 10% Niacinamide Booster

Niacinamide Booster Serum + Hydrate & Smooth Serum
Key Ingredients: Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E, & Niacinamide

Three ingredients that seem to pair with any skin type, benefit multiple skin concerns, and work well with most ingredients and other products are Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E, and Niacinamide. One of the main functions of our skin’s lipid barrier is to keep the skin hydrated and moisturized by locking in water and preventing water loss. Vitamin E and Niacinamide are antioxidants that support our skin’s barrier while Hyaluronic Acid holds 1,000 times its weight in water to keep skin hydrated under the surface. Both Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid are made by our skin, but diminish as we age and we do not make Niacinamide naturally so we benefit from applying all 3 topically. Together, they improve the look of lines and wrinkles and can even improve the appearance of redness and uneven, blotchy skin. From dry skin to oily skin and everything in between, these are smoothing and soothing besties.

Fun Fact: Hyaluronic Acid can also increase the penetration of other ingredients.

BONUS: Firm & Lift Serum

Firm & Lift Serum
Key Ingredients: Retinol & Bakuchiol

If you're only in the mood to use one serum at night, the Firm & Lift Serum is our go-to. Retinol and Bakuchiol are quickly becoming skin care’s new power couple. While Retinol has long been studied and used, Bakuchiol is fairly new to the spotlight. While studies are limited, Bakuchiol has shown in studies to mimic the positive effects Retinol has on diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and hyperpigmentation, without the irritation that can come from Retinol. They work similarly and have a similar structure, so as a team they are a true powerhouse for firming the look of skin and smoothing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

When is the best time to apply niacinamide serum if you use all the serums everyday?
