Differences between our Originals and our Actives Serums

At goPure our mission is to always be improving and bringing our customers the most innovative and safe products at the best prices. In 2016 we launched our goPure skin care line with the 3 serums that started it all: our Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid and Retinol Serums. The products were a hit and to this day we have thousands of customers continuing to use and love the original line.

Fast forward 4 years and we were still not satisfied. We still had a small amount of customers who felt that they needed something that worked faster or delivered even more benefits. Working with our world-renowned cosmetic chemist we created the “Actives” line, named after the newest and most innovative Active Ingredients that we put in.

To put it simply, for many people our originals products work great, they love them and they are “enough”. For those who want even faster results or feel that they need something more, we recommend the Actives line. The Actives line uses a higher number of active ingredients, that are newer and more innovative. Because of this, these raw ingredients cost us more and the prices on the Actives line reflects their premium quality.

Here’s a little breakdown explaining it product by product:

Vitamin C Serum vs. Actives Brighten and Even Serum

The original Vitamin C formula is built on a foundation of a stable form of Vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate), Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid along with our proprietary botanical blend.

The Brighten and Even Serum includes all of this AND also includes a special, very expensive form of Vitamin C that comes from the Kakadu Plant which is only found in Australia and contains 100 times the Vitamin C of an Orange! This rare fruit is exposed to non-stop sun damage in the harshest conditions and has built defenses for repairing itself. Our formula contains a special Active ingredient called Superox-C that has been shown in clinical studies to dramatically reduce the appearance of dark spots, brighten and even the look of skin and make it look smoother.  We also added a new discovery called SoluMoist which is made from an extract of the Tamarind Seed and is considered a powerful botanical alternative to Hyaluronic Acid.

Hyaluronic Acid Serum vs. Actives Hydrate and Smooth Serum

The original HA formula is built on a foundation of a botanical alternative to Hyaluronic Acid, regular Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium Hyaluronate) along with our proprietary botanical blend.

The Hydrate and Smooth Serum contains 3 types of Hyaluronic Acid - the first one being the normal Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium Hyaluronate), the next one is the most expensive and effective form of HA on the market today called HyaCare50. This is a very small form of HA (called low molecular weight) which is able to penetrate much deeper to the deepest layers of the skin due to it’s small molecular structure. In clinical testing this form of HA showed a dramatic reduction in the look of wrinkles, fine lines and a visibly plumper skin. SoluMoist which is made from an extract of the Tamarind Seed and is considered a powerful botanical alternative to Hyaluronic Acid. Finally just for an added touch we threw in a healthy dose of stable Vitamin C.

Retinol Serum vs. Actives Firm and Lift Serum

The original Retinol Serum is composed of a special cosmetic retinol complex called Retinol MOIST which is designed to keep the Retinol stable and delivered properly. It also includes Vitamin E and our proprietary botanical blend.

For the Firm and Lift Serum we chose a newer version of Retinol called Granactive Retinoid. This version of retinol is advanced for two reasons - 1. In studies it was found to be less irritating for sensitive skin than traditional Retinol and 2. It was found to be dramatically more effective at reducing the look of wrinkles and fine lines, evening out skin tone and visibly reducing redness.  We also added Bachukiol - a botanical ingredient which mimics the benefits of Retinol and for good measure added Vitamin E and the Tamarind Seed Extract which is a botanical alternative for Hyaluronic Acid. This, combined with our proprietary Botanical Blend delivered inside a clean formula is one of our most powerful serums to date.

Actives Glyco-Peptide Anti Wrinkle Cream

Currently in the Originals line we don’t really have a product that we can compare to this cream. It contains many ingredients not found in the other products such as Glycolic Acid, Powerful Peptides like Dermaxyl and Matrxyle’Sythe, Tamarind Seed Extract (Botanical Hyaluronic Acid), Jojoba Oil, Niacimide and more. Products with similar ingredients (but not clean formulas) sell for over $80 in stores today.

Hi Karen,

If you will be out in the sun most of the day, sunscreen may not be enough. We suggest to not use Retinol 2 days before and after you lay in the sun.

Karen

My biggest concern is brown spots and redness on my face. I currently use your products but I’m wondering what is specific for these two problems? I love all the goPure products I use. Thank you

I have used these products for 3 years now and I love them except I have noticed my face gets very red sometimes so I have eased off using the retinol for a bit as I do have rosacea. I have just been using the niacimide booster at night. My question is should I be using anything else.. like vitamin c seum

Hello Diane, thank you for your feedback and we’re very sorry for the inconvenience. Some people find Retinol to be too harsh on their skin. That’s right, you may cut back on the Retinol to 2 to 3 times per week (at night). You may Use the Niacinamide in any order with our other serums. For best results, you can use it before you apply your Vitamin C serum or after applying your Hyaluronic Acid Serum. The Niacinamide Serum can be used day and night. If you are to skip your Retinol, you can use your morning serums with the Niacinamide Serum.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any further questions or concerns.

Hello Lesley, We have customers with Rosacea who have seen improvements using our products. But, results will VARY and we really do not give advice when there is medical skin concern because we cannot guarantee how your skin will react to our ingredients.
