Skin Fads That Are Here To Stay!

March 19, 2019 | BY Stephanie George

With a global anti-aging market worth a whopping $42.5 billion dollars in 2018 by a Reuters’ study, people more now than ever have put a lot of focus on achieving that healthy, youthful looking complexion. By 2023 Global Newswire estimates the market is expected to reach $66.2 billion…now that’s a lot of people looking for that fountain of youth! Society’s idea of beauty that we’ve seen in magazines, on TV and on the big screen typically gives us that extra boost in wanting to look younger and healthier. So many trends and short lived crazes come and go and while some make sense, others have you questioning ‘What were they thinking?!’. These skin care fads not only have shown popularity throughout the recent years but they seem to not be going anywhere any time soon!

Many feel the amount of money they’re ‘saving’ on creating their own face masks, facial exfoliants and any other DIY recipe they find without realizing that although it may work, it doesn’t include preservatives to guarantee longer life before spoiling. When creating a DIY skin care treatment, it’s advised you know exactly what’s going onto your skin and whether some ingredients that seem gentle to most may cause irritation to others. Trust us skin care experts and any DIY that we feel works ideally for your skin, or just make it easier when it comes to your face save yourself the trouble and purchase affordable and pure products that are gentle on your skin and your wallet.

Whether it’s a clay mask, sheet mask or even a healthy nourishing Enzyme Mask it can do wonders for your skin when used properly. Although a quick and simple way to boost skin’s hydration and get that refreshed glow, remember not all masks are created equal. Popular charcoal masks remove dirt and oil but if that charcoal mask is of poor quality, you may find the glue to be too sticky causing irritation and increasing the risk that a layer of skin may possibly peel off especially when used alongside Retinols. If you’re choosing which is better for your skin, go for the Retinol if you want to see the best results!

CBD oil has been used in everything lately! CBD also known as Cannabidiol has no psychotropic properties as cannabis does but when used in many topical products it can help relieve aches and pains, but it can also have great benefits for your skin. Known to appear to reduce inflammation it appears to sooth and can calm eczema, psoriasis and irritated skin. Another benefit? It’s found to help with the appearance of diminishing puffiness and lessen signs of aging. CBD Oil gives us natural fatty acids and antioxidant properties. Although effective, it’s not to be mistaken to work as well as Hyaluronic acids, Vitamin C or Retinols serums.

With Alexa and Siri making our daily lives easier, why wouldn’t there be awesome beauty gadgets to help us in achieving radiant looking skin!

* Derma Roller.

Using a Derma Roller can help reach the skin’s layer where elastin and collagen can be produced. Perfect for appearing to soften and fill in wrinkles, plumps up the skin and even reduces scarring and sun damage. At first glance the Derma Roller may look like a torture device to some, but it works effectively for areas of both thick and thin skin. The longer needles are there to penetrate thicker skin and those areas with thin skin are treated with a set of smaller needles.

* Jade Roller.

A great way to not only achieve brighter skin but to get those calming, zen vibes. Celebrities including the Kardashians have admitted to using these Jade Rollers as these rollers can appear to boost collagen, can help to penetrate products deeper into the skin, help the appearance of increasing blood circulation and reduces puffiness. Rather than applying ice cubes under the eyes if you wake up with puffiness, refrigerate the Jade Roller as a not so messy substitution that can work! Get it here.

* Light Therapy Masks.

Ideally used after exfoliation, these Light Therapy Masks can help appear to stimulate cell production, appear to decrease inflammation, help with the appearance of smoother wrinkles and can appear to help increase the skin’s healing process. Not only are these therapy masks at your local dermatologist or med spa, they’re also available to purchase in stores and online. Ever wonder how Madonna has continued to have youthful skin? One of her secrets, that’s right…A Light Therapy Mask.

Anti-Aging is more accessible now than it has ever been, and men and women alike have been spending more and more money and effort in keeping up with their appearance. Although fads like these run risk of skin irritation if not tested properly, they have minimal risk in causing damage than some of those other fads out there. The trend of Injectables even with a qualified doctor raises your risk of infection, scarring, allergic reactions and even permanent damage if not done properly. Before trying any new skin care fads yourself, speak to a skin care professional prior and regardless which ones you decide to eventually try always test on a small section of your skin to make sure no irritation occurs. With all these skin care fads what will they think of next?!

What are your favorite Skin Care Fads in getting that gorgeous and radiant looking skin?
