5 Easy Tips You Haven't Heard of for Great Skin

Are you one of the beauty junkies out there who’s eager to try every skin care gimmick or fad you see on the internet? Don’t fall for the hype! There are lots of misinformation and bad advice about proper skin care emerging online that you have to be wary about.

Skin care can be tricky because not one size fits all. Just because a skincare trick works for a beauty influencer you follow doesn’t mean that it can work for you too! You have to find the right method that will work for you and your skin type.

But what if you don’t have all the time in the world to curate and commit to a personalized skin care routine? What if you don’t even know what your skin type is and is just looking for a foolproof, expert-approved, tried-and-true skin care tips that can work for almost anyone? Well, we got you!

You don’t need to fret because achieving healthy, glowing skin is actually a lot easier than you think. We’ve rounded up 5 of the easiest skin care tips that you might not heard of yet - most of which might even debunk skin care myths that you totally believed were true!

Experts in skin care and beauty can swear by these 5 surprising tips that can do the job for all skin types:

  • 1. Open Your Pores Before Applying Skin Care

  • Most people hate the look of open pores, however, experts suggest that it is preferred before starting off with your skincare regimen. It allows maximum absorption of product, thus, giving you maximum benefit! When you open the pores, the penetration of your treatment increases. It also makes regular face washing more effective.
  • The best way to open your pores is through facial steam. You can easily do this at home and does not require any special equipment. Simply take a cloth or a towel and soak it in hot water. Let the warm, damp cloth sit in your face for a few moments then apply your serum or moisturizer.
  • Additionally, steaming the skin can help loosen up the underlying debris of dirt, making it easier to extract blackheads and acne. You can even add a drop of essential oil to the hot water for an extra relaxing effect.

    2. You’re Aging Earlier than you think

You’re never too young when it comes to skin care. In fact, by our mid-twenties, most skin experts advise that we should already start incorporating anti-aging products into our regimen as this is the age when our collagen and elastin production start to decrease. These two are our skin’s major structural proteins responsible for keeping the skin flexible, firm, and resilient.

If you wish to ensure a wrinkle-free future, you need to start using anti-aging products that will help delay collagen loss and maintain your skin’s health for the long-term as early as now. Moreover, the layer of makeup, oil, and dirt on our skin can trap free radicals that cause skin damage and aging.

For anti-aging products based on the most potent active ingredients and botanical extracts, visit goPure Beauty and shop a selection of high quality skin care products at the lowest possible price.

    3. Never skip Sunscreen

The major culprits behind aging and skin cancer are the harmful UVB and UVA rays from the sun. An SPF 30 broad-spectrum sunscreen or higher can block out 97% of these ultraviolet rays. Simply put: blocking the rays of the sun means preventing the appearance of wrinkles and age spots.

Of course, you won't look young forever. Researchers say that skin starts chronologically aging by the time you are 55. However, the daily use of sunscreen can delay photoaging so that you can enjoy younger-looking skin for longer.

Before going out into the sun, make sure to wear sunscreen with at least SPF 30 or higher. It is crucial to make this the last step of your skincare routine to prevent diluting the product and its sun protection benefits against skin-damaging UV rays.

    4. Hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate!

A hydrated body and skin is your express lane to dewy, radiant skin. When shopping for products, look for those that boast hydrating properties and are formulated with moisturizing ingredients.

When you layer hydrating products on your skin, it will allow the rest of your skincare to penetrate deep within, making them more effective. In turn, you’ll see wonderful results like plumper, younger-looking skin and a natural glow that will attract anyone’s attention.

Maximize hydration by regularly putting on a hydrating (not drying!) mask, moisturizing your face with a great moisturizer, wash your face with water, mist your face with a water-based spray from time to time and use cushion foundations or applicators to prevent dehydrating your face with makeup.

    5. Skin care should extend beyond your skin

Good eating habits and a great night sleep can have a profound impact on your skin’s health. Most experts suggest that you should eat healthily and sleep before 10PM because ten in the evening to two in the morning is believed to be the perfect time to take your beauty sleep or skin rest. This time range is said to be the golden time for skin revitalization.

Poor sleep and bad eating habits can contribute to the severity of inflammatory skin conditions like acne or psoriasis. Since our skin reflects the status of our inner-health, it is important to keep a healthy lifestyle and improve your overall well being so it can show on the outside in the form of great-looking skin.

I like the opening the pores step. I sometimes do it at night because it feels good. I put in drops of lavender, lemon or grapefruit oil. It so relaxing in preparing for bed.
